Yes, mortgage interest rates had a very unexpected rally and dropped to 3.97%!

Freddie Mac, in its weekly survey of more than 100 lenders nationwide revealed that the average 30-year rate had lost 11-basis points (0.11%) to achieve a low 3.97% rate this week.

This is the first time mortgage interest rates have dropped to the 3’s since last November which saw interest rates rise to multi-year highs based on presidential election speculation.
